GESPE’GEWA’GI: The Last Land 13-part series is a fun and vital look at Mi’gmaq fishers in the Gaspé Peninsula

The Indigenous fishers of Listuguj, Quebec get the spotlight in GESPE’GEWA’GI: The Last Land, a fun and vital new 13-part series out now via APTN.

Produced by Montreal’s Rezolution Pictures (Mohawk Girls), the series is set against Quebec’s stunning Gaspé Peninsula and follows a group of Mi’gmaq fishers as they hit the water in search of crab, lobster, shrimp, and salmon. The 30-minute episodes offer a rare First Nations perspective on Canada’s fishing industry, and how taking control of their own fishing has strengthened and supported the Mi’gmaq community’s traditions and members.
