Quebec movie theaters, indoor pools, and indoor skating rinks to re-open on February 27

After being shuttered for months, Quebec movie theatres will be allowed to re-open as of February 27, according to a report in The Montreal Gazette. Premier François Legault is expected to make the announcement today at 5 pm.

The opening date is set to coincide with the upcoming Spring Break, which runs from February 27 – March 7.

In addition to theatres, other family activities including indoor pools and indoor skating rinks will also be allowed to re-open.

Moviegoers will be required to wear a mask, and physical distancing will be in place. It’s unclear if food and drinks will be sold (or allowed).

The current 8 pm curfew will still be in effect, so these will be matinee screenings only for the time being.

Stay tuned to see what releases Quebec theatres will be screening, and to see if theatres and indoor rinks and pools will be allowed to remain open after Spring Break wraps up on March 7.
