Bill Murray's 1979 screwball comedy classic Meatballs is getting a 40th anniversary screening in Montreal (RSVP for tickets)

Before teaming up to work on legendary comedies like Ghostbusters and Stripes, director Ivan Reitman and star Bill Murray collaborated on the 1979 Canadian screwball comedy Meatballs, a raunchy look at the misadventures at the budget Camp Northstar.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the film, National Canada Film Day and Fantasia International Film Festival are presenting a free screening of the film at Concordia’s Cinema de Sève (400 Maisonneuve West) on Tuesday, April 16th at 7:30 pm, with Meatballs producer André Link and Greg Dunning (son of the late producer John Dunning) in attendance.

The film will be preceded by a 35mm screening of Les Drew’s 1983 animated short The Old Lady’s Camping Trip.

The screening is free, but seating is limited. For tickets, RSVP to: contest@fantasiafestival.com (6 tickets max per person).
