Following the release of their epic new LP, Purple (Abraxan Hymns), Savannah, Georgia’s Baroness hit the Corona Theatre on May 1st for an intense set of their patented  psychedelic sludge metal.

Purple is the culmination of a few turbulent years for the band, including a devastating bus crash in 2012 that left nine people injured and sidelined the band for months. The accident left drummer Alan Blickle and bassist Matt Maggioni with serious spinal injuries, that eventually led to their departure from the band.

The newly revamped lineup, including bass player Nick Jost and drummer Sebastian Thompson, made their recording debut as a band on Purple, an enthralling album that is also the most stylistically diverse of Baroness’ career.
