The Darkness
Corona Theatre
April 17, 2018
The years have been very kind to The Darkness. Fifteen years after the release of their smash debut LP, Permission to Land, the UK hard-rockers have established themselves as one of the best rock outfits touring, delivering an over-the-top live show complete with the sort of showmanship one rarely sees in live bands these days.
Touring in support of their recent Pinewood Smile LP, the band ran through a number of new songs at their packed Corona gig, which slid in nicely with the band’s AC/DC meets Queen sound. Without shorting the new material, the band made sure to deliver the hits, performing a whopping nine songs from their debut LP, including crowd pleasers like “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” and “Growing on Me.”
