Stream: Foo Fighters get funky on new album Medicine at Midnight

The tenth studio album from Foo Fighters is finally here. Originally scheduled for release in 2020, Medicine at Midnight and the band’s subsequent tour (which was to include a headlining set at Osheaga) was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Eschewing the band’s usual shredding rock style, Medicine at Midnight is a downright funky album, one that frontman Dave Grohl has compared to David Bowie’s 1983 Let’s Dance album. From the slinky mid-tempo “Shame” to the album’s anthemic opener “Making a Fire,” complete with “nah nah nah” backing vocals and handclaps, Medicine at Midnight seems tailor-made to blast out of a vintage Camaro car stereo.

Stream the entire new album below. Foo Fighters will headline one night of Osheaga 2021, alongside Cardi B and Post Malone from July 30-August 1 at Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau. Passes are available now.
