Arcade Fire is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their third album, The Suburbs, with a new video for “Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains).”
Featuring Régine Chassagne and Win Butler performing the song on a backyard deck, the stripped-down performance of the fan-favourite from The Suburbs almost seems to be speaking to our current moment, with lines like “Living in the sprawl / Dead shopping malls rise like mountains beyond mountains / And there’s no end in sight.”
Released via the band’s Instagram, the video includes the following message: “The Suburbs is 10 years old now. Can’t wait to all play music together again. Until then, stay safe and well.”
