The Damn Truth Played Montreal’s First Major Shows Since the Quarantine at the Royalmount Drive-in

It’s been a very quiet few months on the local concert scene, but Montreal’s own The Damn Truth changed that this past weekend. Playing the first major show in the city since the quarantine began this past March, the local hard rockers played a pair of back-to-back shows at the Royalmount Drive-in Saturday night.

Presented by Osheaga, the shows occurred on what would have been Osheaga’s huge 15th-anniversary bash at Parc Jean-Drapeau, which was pushed back a year due to the threat of coronavirus.

The concept of a drive-in rock concert might have seemed a bit silly a few months ago, but based on the success of these shows this might be the new model going forward, even as the Quebec government expands its limit on public gatherings from 50 to 250 people starting this week.
