They Might Be Giants finally returned to Montreal with a 30+ song setlist (photos)

They Might Be Giants
Fairmount Theatre
October 30, 2018

Fans of quirky 80’s alternative rock were in for a real treat last week when They Might Be Giants returned to Montreal for their first show in years, followed by fellow 80’s alt-rock heroes Violent Femmes just 24 hours later (check out our photos and review of that show here).

With no opener, the band ran through two complete sets (with a small intermission), along with two encores, performing over 30 tracks from throughout their career. We got a half dozen tracks off their 1990 breakout LP Flood, a pair off their 1986 self-titled debut, and a handful off the recent I Like Fun. Every era of the band was represented during the show, with long and often hilarious bits of between-song banter from founding members John Flansburgh and John Linnell that was often as entertaining as any of their material.

Below you can check out the setlist from the night via Setlist.FM, along with photos from the show courtesy of Eva Blue. For all upcoming tour dates, visit the band’s official site.
