The new Tool album now officially has a release date

After performing two new tracks at the Welcome to Rockville festival this past weekend, Tool have finally confirmed the release date for their long-awaited new album.

According to a report via Consequences of Sound, the band played a video with the date August 30th during intermission at last night’s headlining show in Birmingham, Alabama. That presumably refers to August 30 of this year, but you never really know with Tool.

The new album marks the first for the band since 2006’s 10,000 Days.
