A decade after their last Montreal-area appearance at the Bell Centre on their 2008 reunion tour, 90’s alt-rock chart-toppers Stone Temple Pilots brought their current lineup of the band to Laval’s Place Bell, with support from Seether and Default.

Following the death of original frontman Scott Weiland in 2015 and the departure of Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington that same year (before his own death last year), the band (guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo, and drummer Eric Kretz) launched open auditions for a replacement frontman, eventually landing on former X Factor contestant Jeff Gutt, who looks and sounds nearly identical to Weiland.

Last night’s setlist featured a good chunk of their smash debut Core, while touching on all aspects of their career, including their recently-released self-titled album, which slots in well with classic tracks like “Plush,” and “Sex Type Thing.” Below you can check out photos from the night courtesy of Eva Blue.
