Yellow police tape secures an empty playground. A black cat stalks a deserted street. A woman cradling a child races down her hallway as a phone ominously rings in the distance. While it may look like the trailer for an upcoming entry in the Purge franchise, these scenes make up a new ad from the Quebec Government that aims to convince people to wear masks to prevent another lockdown. Radio Canada has an early version of the ad, which is supposed to begin airing next week.
While masks will soon be mandatory in indoor spaces in Quebec, there is still resistance to wearing a masks in the province. The new Quebec ad may be a tad dramatic, but hopefully, it drives home the point that wearing masks saves lives and can also prevent another lockdown.
Check out the ad below, and please wear a mask in public.
