Four years after her last Montreal show (at the far more intimate Belmont), Phoebe Bridgers returned to town for a huge headlining show at Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau last night.
Touring in support of 2020’s massive Punisher LP, Bridgers performed her intimate and heartfelt material in front of thousands of adoring fans, some of which had lined up since 6am to get a spot in front of the stage.
While the show was thankfully devoid of the pandemonium that broke at Bridgers’ Toronto show the day before, she still stopped the show numerous times to check in with potential security issues in the crowd. It was a somber indication that many of the young fans at the show may have pushed themselves too hard throughout the long day in an effort to get as close to their idol as possible.
Throughout the 17-song setlist, Bridgers displayed the deadpan humor that has made her one of the best follows on the internet, which helped offset the heaviness of emotional tracks like ”Funeral” and ”I Know the End.”
Check out photos from the set via Bad Feeling Magazine photographer Eric Brisson below, along with the evening’s setlist. If you missed it, read our 2018 interview with Phoebe Bridgers discussing her breakthrough debut album here.
