Phil Rosenthal headlines The Devour! Food Film Festival, with a mix of in-person and digital options

Somebody Feed Phil star Phil Rosenthal headlines the 2020 edition of the Devour! Food Film Festival.

Nova Scotia’s Devour! Food Film Festival kicks off today with a mix of in-person events and digital components, marking the first time food and film aficionados can partake in the festival’s events remotely. Beloved food guru Phil Rosenthal (Netflix’s Somebody Feed Phil) serves as the festival’s headliner this year and will participate in a Q&A following a drive-in screening of Pixar’s Ratatouille, which Rosenthal programmed for the festival.

This year’s lineup features 19 feature-length films and 25 shorts, including Bread in the Bones, a documentary about how bread binds us all, Feast of the Seven Fishes, a holiday comedy centered around an Italian seafood feast starring Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos), and closing film The Truffle Hunters, a documentary about the prized (and incredibly expensive) Alba truffle.

Alongside the slate of feature films and shorts, Devour! will also present a number of workshops, including Flavorbombs with Bob Blumer and Jason Priestley, where Blumer will teach the Beverly Hills, 90210 star how to make dishes from his latest cookbook, and East Coast Pantry Party with Chef Jennifer Crawford, where the Masterchef Canada winner will teach audiences how to up their dinner party game (or at least make your dishes look better on Instagram).

The Devour! Food Film Festival runs from October 21-25, 2020. The complete festival schedule and tickets can be found here. In the meantime, check out some festival trailers below. Bon appetit!
