Morrissey announces Canadian spring tour

Morrissey is finally returning to Canada.

After a 13-year boycott of the country in protest of the seal hunt, the iconic former singer of The Smiths is set to play a number of Canadian shows this spring, including a stop at Montreal’s MTelus on April 29th.

Tickets go on-sale Friday, February 22 at 10:00 am via evenko. The date marks Morrissey’s first Montreal show since performing at Theatre St-Denis way back in 1997.

Morrissey’s latest release is a cover of the 1980’s Pretenders classic “Back on the Chain Gang.” He’ll continue on with the covers tradition with his upcoming California Son LP, which will see him tackle tracks from the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Roy Orbison.

We spoke to Johnny Marr of The Smiths for the Bad Feeling Magazine podcast — you can listen to the interview in full here.
