Laura Jane Grace announces new band Devouring Mothers, debut LP out this November

Laura Jane Grace is giving Against Me! a well-deserved break.

In a new interview in Rolling Stone, Grace discusses the formation of Devouring Mothers, a new trio that also includes Against Me! drummer Atom Willard and Marc Jacob Hudson. Their debut LP, Bought to Rot, is due on November 9th via Bloodshot Records. Pre-orders for the album are up now.

According to the interview, Grace wanted the album “to feel like a mix-tape”:

“Like OK, you’ve got this Nirvana-like song, you’ve got a Cure song. It was musically freeing, in that way, to just be playing whatever was coming to me as I was writing and not having to think about it.”

Listen to the first single, “Apocalypse Now (& Later)” below.
