Sigur Rós’ Jonsi and his partner Alex Somers released their collaborative album Riceboy Sleeps back in 2009, and they’ve just announced plans for a 10th anniversary tour, where they will be playing the album in full. Jonsi and Alex Somers will be joined by 40-piece orchestra/choir, Wordless Music Ochestra, conducted by Robert Ames.
That tour includes a date at Montreal’s Théâtre Maisonneuve at Place-des-Arts on October 23, 2019. Tickets go on-sale Friday, April 5th at 10:00am.
From the press release:
We’re so happy to announce the North American tour for our album ‘Riceboy Sleeps’. Our album is turning 10 this year and we wanted to share in something special together…After all these years and having never fully realized our album in a live environment we are so excited to come play a few special shows… We’ll be playing together with the Wordless Music Orchestra and Choir. And we’ll be playing in some really beautiful rooms and we can’t wait to share in this experience together… Thank you so much for all the love and support… And thank you for listening…
