image+nation — Canada’s longest-running queer film festival — returns to Montreal for its 37th edition this week.

Showcasing over 150 films from twenty seven countries, this year’s massive lineup includes opening film Queer (directed by Luca Guadaguino and starring Daniel Craig), Flashback, a documentary on Edmonton’s legendary Flashback club, Any Other Way, a rare look at Canada’s mysterious soul singer Jackie Shane, Drive Back Home, a New Brunswick-Quebec-Toronto road trip feature starring Alan Cumming, and many more.

This year’s program highlights Canadian filmmaking, including a focus on Indigiqueer filmmakers with screenings including Métis Nation of Alberta Conor McNally’s story of Two-Spirit, nêhiyaw (Cree) artist George Littlechild with the new documentary Nanekawâsis.

image+nation runs from November 20-30 in theatres across Montreal. Many titles are also available to screen digitally at home. For tickets and the complete schedule, visit the festival’s official site.
