Montreal festival season is officially back! After successfully scaled-down versions of Francofolies and Montreal Jazz Fest earlier this month, electronic music festival ÎleSoniq kicked off its own slimmed-down edition last night with a blowout headlined by Deadmau5 Vs. Testpilot.

Dunned ÎleSoniq Redux, the festival required proof of double vaccination, and fans were set up on their own “islands” to ensure social distancing was maintained throughout the event. While the capacity was greatly reduced compared to the traditional summer ÎleSoniq editions that draw tens of thousands of fans per day, the festival didn’t skimp on the production (just check out the images below).

Scroll below for photos from yesterday’s festival kick-off featuring Deadmau5, Paul Kalkbrenner, and Spencer Brown. All photos by Eric Brisson. ÎleSoniq continues through Sunday at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Passes are available here.
