Here’s what movies Cineplex will be showing when Quebec theatres open for March break

Judas and The Black Messiah

After being shuttered for months due to the pandemic, Quebec has given movie theatres the green light to re-open for the upcoming March break, and Cineplex has just revealed the titles that will be screening in their theatres starting this week.

While there are no new blockbusters screening, the list includes a number of new Quebec films, along with a string of Hollywood children’s films and acclaimed new releases that recently debuted on video-on-demand services.

Hitting theatres on February 26 or 27 are De Gaulle, La Déesse des mouches à feu, Félix et le trésor de Morgaa, Tom and Jerry, Wonder Woman 1984, The Croods: A New Age, 100% Wolf, News of the World, Promising Young Woman, Land and Judas and The Black Messiah.

Each screening room will be operating at 50% capacity or a maximum of 250 people.

“We are excited to safely welcome our guests back to 16 theatres across the province for some much-deserved fun and escape,” said Daniel Séguin, Senior Vice President of Operations, Cineplex. “Our top priority is the health and safety of our employees and guests so while our doors will reopen this week without our famous popcorn for sale, as directed by the Province, we know that it would be safe to serve and consume if that were not the case. Movies and popcorn go hand-in-hand and we look forward to the day that our guests can have the complete movie-going experience that we’ve all been missing.”

Concession stands will remain closed, and masks must be worn inside the theatre.

The Guzzo theatre chain in Quebec has been in the news in recent days with owner Vincenzo Guzzo successfully lobbying Quebec Premier François Legault to pay for lost popcorn sales due to the ban of food sales in movie theatres, in what has been dubbed #popcorngate. Stay tuned to see what will be screening at Guzzo theatres.
