Dave Chappelle tests positive for COVID-19 after hanging out with Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and Grimes

Dave Chappelle has tested positive for COVID-19.

Chappelle had been in the midst of a series of outdoor socially-distanced standup shows at Austin’s Stubbs. All of the upcoming shows have been cancelled. He was scheduled to perform five upcoming shows at the venue, including two with Joe Rogan.

“Dave Chappelle is quarantined after testing positive for COVID-19,” a statement from Chappelle’s rep stated. “His remaining shows at Stubbs Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, TX have been cancelled and ticket holders should contact their point of purchase for refunds. Chappelle has safely conducted socially-distanced shows in Ohio since June 2020 and he moved those shows to Austin during the winter. Chappelle implemented COVID-19 protocols which included rapid testing for the audience and daily testing for himself and his team. His diligent testing enabled him to immediately respond by quarantining, thus mitigating the spread of the virus. Chappelle is asymptomatic.”

The Live Nation-produced shows cost a whopping $1600 USD (plus fees) for a table for six, or $1400 for a table for four.

The news comes only a couple of days after viral photos circulated showing Chappelle hanging out with Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and Grimes (who recently had COVID). Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery.
