4-hour+ 80s horror doc In Search of Darkness Part II is avaialble on Blu-ray now (limited Valentine’s Day sale)

A Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund.

Continuing the deep documentary dive into 80s horror, the comprehensive and wildly entertaining In Search of Darkness II is now available on Blu-ray, and all you horror lovebirds out there can snag a discounted deluxe edition of the film this Valentine’s Day weekend.

Featuring an additional 4+ hours (!) of interviews with 80s horror directors, stars, and fans, In Search of Darkness II features great chats with horror legends including Robert Englund, John Carpenter, Tom Savini, Joe Dante, Nancy Allen, Linnea Quigley, and many, many more. The sequel features 15 new guests, in addition to 40+ subjects from the initial film. Along with dozens of film-specific segments (in order of release date), the sequel has a greater focus on international horror, along with a number of mini-retrospectives on specific filmmakers and trends.

“The decade of ‘80s horror provided a treasure trove of genre films that horror fans hold close to their hearts,” says writer/director David Weiner. “The first In Search of Darkness only scratched the surface of what ‘80s horror had to offer, and in Part II we get to cast a wider net and also dig deeper: Brand-new interviews; new takes from the original In Search of Darkness cast; more international horror titles; examinations of controversial films and genre movements; career-retrospective interviews with such horror legends as Robert Englund, Tom Savini, Linnea Quigley and Nancy Allen; and perhaps some titles that even the most die-hard horror fans have never heard of or seen before. We get to share a whole new world of shock and gore in this new love letter to ‘80s horror, made with love by the fans for the fans.”

Just in time for a last-minute Valentine’s Day gift, In Search of Darkness II is available as part of a deluxe edition flash sale, running through February 14 at midnight at 80shorrordoc.com.
