Just for Laughs Montreal returns with a free Dane Cook show, Bassem Youssef, and more
Months after Just for Laughs announced that this year’s Montreal edition was cancelled, the long-running comedy festival has officially risen from the ashes.
The festival’s parent company, Groupe Juste pour rire, announced back in March that this year’s festival would be cancelled while the festival tried to avoid bankruptcy amid mass layoffs.
Since then, ComediHa! acquired the Just for Laughs brand, and is now putting on a slimmed-down version of the festival in just a few weeks.
Running from July 18 to 28, this year’s edition includes a free outdoor show by Dane Cook, as well as ticketed shows from the likes of Bassem Youssef, and The Nasty Show regular Bobby Slayton.
The festival has also promised a closing show, with details to come shortly.
