Norm Macdonald, former Saturday Night Live star and comedian has died at 61

Beloved comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member Norm Macdonald has died at 61.

According to a report in Variety, Macdonald was diagnosed with cancer nine years ago but kept the diagnosis private, and continued to work regularly.

Macdonald got his start as a stand-up in Canada before moving to the U.S. and landing a long-running slot on Saturday Night Live. He went on to star in a number of fan-favourite comedies over the years including Dirty Work, Billy Madison, and Funny People. He returned to TV to star in how own show, Norm, from 1999-2001, and recently hosted Norm Macdonald Has a Show for Netflix.

RIP Norm. This one hurts.
