The Strokes played Irving Plaza with guests AOC, John Mulaney, and Dev Hynes at Maya Wiley benefit

The Strokes played Irving Plaza last night, marking New York City’s first full capacity show since the pandemic. The show was a benefit for NYC mayoral hopeful Maya Wiley and included surprise appearances from NYC congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, John Mulaney, and Dev Hynes (Blood Orange).

Playing before a surging and extremely excited crowd, the band’s 16-song set opened with 2005’s “Juicebox” before closing with an absolutely killer version of “Reptilia” (just listen to the crowd sing along to the guitar breakdown in the video below).

The Strokes have a handful of dates lined up this fall, including appearances at Outside Lands in San Francisco and Atlanta’s Shaky Knees festival. Head to the band’s official site for more information and tickets.
