David Lynch’s Dune gets a stacked 4K UHD and Blu-ray special edition set from Arrow Video

Arrow Video will ensure that the spice flows this summer with a special edition release of David Lynch’s 1984 Dune adaptation. Starring Kyle MacLachlan (in his film debut) as Paul Atreides, Lynch’s take on Frank Herbert’s classic 1964 sci-fi novel was a critical and box-office disappointment at the time but has gained a strong cult following in the decades since its release.

That reappraisal continues with Arrow Video’s elaborate upcoming special edition release of the film, which will be available in a myriad of options, including 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases. The deluxe edition includes two books, a series of lobby cards, a fold-out poster, and a steelbook encased in a rigid slip-cover.

Check out the full extras for that version below, along with images of the standard 4K and Blu-ray limited editions. Arrow Video will unleash David Lynch’s Dune on August 31, just days before Dennis Villeneuve’s version of Dune is rumoured to screen at the Venice Film Festival. After numerous delays due to the pandemic, Villeneuve’s hotly-anticipated epic is scheduled to hit theatres (and potentially HBO Max, though that’s a whole other can of sandworms) on October 1.

Dune is available to pre-order now.
