It’s a great day to be a Marvel zombie.
As part of today’s massive wave of Disney announcements following their investor’s call, Marvel announced 5 news shows heading to Disney+ including Armor Wars, Secret Invasion, Moon Knight, Ironheart, and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
Here’s what we know about the stacked lineup of shows:
Don Cheadle returns as James Rhodes in Armor Wars, based on the iconic 80s comic run by Bob Layton and David Michelinie about Iron Man’s technology being taken used by nefarious forces.
James Gunn will return to The Guardians of the Galaxy with an upcoming Holiday Special due in 2022.
Samuel Jackson is back as Nick Fury in the adaptation of the mega Marvel crossover event from a few years back. Expect lots of cosmic action and the return of the great Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos.
A new addition to the Marvel universe, Ironheart is based on the Brian Micahel Bendis character, the young creator of a powerful new suit. Hopefully, the series retains Bendis’ great knack for dialogue and character development.
Not much is known about the upcoming Moon Knight series, based on the long-standing Marvel character Marc Spector, a vengeful superhero with a spate of debilitating mental health issues.
In addition to the new shows, Marvel also revealed details about the upcoming Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Ms, Marvel, and the animated I Am Groot and What If…? shows. Check out the blurbs and teasers for all of those below.
