Saturday Night Live skewered Montreal in last night’s Bonjour Hi! sketch
Last night’s Saturday Night Live took on Montreal with the Bonjour Hi! sketch, with Bowen Yang as Jean-Lawrence and Kate McKinnon as Anne-Marie, daytime talk hosts on the Bonjour Hi! show.
The duo referenced Montreal parking, delivered some questionable French accents, smoked on-air, and checked in with their CBC Toronto correspondent Awa Sene (host Issa Rae) for a segment called “Drake Watch.” (She did not, in fact, find Drake, despite heading to the top of the CN Tower).
Of course, the skit ended with Yang and McKinnon dancing and singing to Celine Dion. Check out the segment below.

Montreal is six hours by car from NYC, and these yutzes still have no idea what a Quebecois sounds like.
Actually Bowen Yang’s “tabernac” and “ta gueule” were pretty spot on but I agree the others were lame, even the stupid Peugeot reference. When was the last time we saw a Peugeot anywhere outside of a France lol. But it felt special to be SNL’ed in spite of these misses. 👏
