AC/DC reunite with vocalist Brian Johnson, tease PWR/UP album

After months of rumours, AC/DC has finally confirmed the return of vocalist Brian Johnson and teased an upcoming project (album? single?) titled PWR/UP.

The band’s last album, Rock or Bust, was released in 2014 and was followed by a major worldwide tour (including a massive show at Montreal’s rarely-used Olympic Stadium).

AC/DC then underwent a series of lineup changes; vocalist Brian Johnson left the band (or was fired, depending on the source) due to his hearing loss, and the band’s co-founder and guitarist Malcolm Young died in 2017.  After Johnson’s departure, the band played a series of controversial shows with Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose on vocals.

This morning, the band confirmed their current lineup includes Brian Johnson back on vocals, the ageless Angus Young on lead guitar, Cliff Williams on bass, Phil Rudd on drums, and Angus and Malcolm Young’s nephew Stevie Young on rhythm guitar.

Stay tuned for more info on PWR/UP. Hopefully, the boys have one last tour in them planned for when a tour of that scale can be safely undertaken. In the meantime, revisit some classic AC/DC tracks below.

Update: Check out a 30-second teaser of “Shot in the Dark” now!
