Tom Petty’s ‘Wildflowers’ is getting a huge expanded reissue as ‘Wildflowers & All the Rest’

Tom Petty’s 1994 album Wildflowers has long been a fan-favourite, featuring FM-radio standards like “You Don’t Know How it Feels,” and “You Wreck Me.” Petty’s second solo album was co-produced by Rick Rubin and Mike Campbell, and found Petty in a very creative place — he actually had enough songs to make a double-album, but the decision was made to release Wildflowers as a standard LP. Now all those extra tracks (many never released publicly) are being put together in the massive new Wildflowers & All the Rest collection, out on October 16 via Warner Records.

Available in a number of configurations, including a huge 9-LP set complete with a “unique unisex necklace—hand-made by Maria Sarno in a faux suede pouch,” the collection features 15 solo demos Petty made in his home studio, live tracks, and much more.

You can check out a new video for Petty’s home recording of “Wildflowers” below, along with the various box set configurations and tracklists. Wildflowers & All the Rest is available for pre-order now.
