The NOFX / Frank Turner cover album West Coast Vs. Wessex is out on July 31, and Fat Wreck Chords is now streaming the complete album via YouTube.
Each act covers five of each other’s songs on the release, giving the material a unique spin that completely transforms the originals.
NOFX’s Fat Mike and Frank Turner discussed the album during an interview with each other for Brooklyn Vegan, where they discussed their history using ecstasy, English accents, The Rolling Stones (?), and much more.
In other Frank Turner news, Turner played a socially-distanced indoor show in London this past weekend as a test to see if shows are feasible given the current COVID precautions. The show’s venue manager Ally Wolf said the event was “not a success,” noting it is impossible to make shows profitable with such a reduced capacity, a cautionary tale for local venues as Quebec will begin allowing public gatherings of up to 250 people starting on August 3rd.
Check out the full West Coast Vs. Wessex stream below. We interviewed Frank Turner for the Bad Feeling Magazine podcast a few years back; it’s a great talk about his upbringing, politics, and music. Listen to the interview here.
