Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is Opening in Canada and 69 Other Counties in August

The release date for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet has been reshuffled so many times that it’s starting to give The New Mutants a run for its money. In the latest update, Warner Bros. released the following statement this afternoon: “Today, Warner Bros. announced that ‘Tenet’ will open in over 70 countries worldwide starting on August 26. Major territories will include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The film will open in the United States over Labor Day weekend in select cities.”

Tenet was originally slated for release on July 17 but was then pushed back to July 31,  then August 12,  due to the ongoing threat of the coronavirus.

Christopher Nolan’s latest sci-fi blockbuster stars John David Washington and Robert Pattinson as spies trying to prevent WWIII. It also reportedly involves time travel, but as per usual with Nolan films, much of Tenet is shrouded in secrecy. For his part, Nolan has stated that the film is the “most designed for the audience experience, the big screen experience,” as any of his films, which is saying something for the director of massive productions like Inception and The Dark Knight.
