Obey the Brave Announce Breakup

Montreal/Ottawa metalcore outfit Obey the Brave has called it a day.

“After 8 years, 4 albums and countless tours across 5 continents, we’ve decided to hang up our skates,” the band posted on Facebook today. “As much as we love this band, our focus and priorities have shifted. Now that we’re all busy chasing new endeavours and experiences, it feels like the right time to move on.”

“For obvious reasons, there will be no final shows, just fond memories that we’ll cherish for a lifetime. We’ve had the honour of releasing music on Epitaph, shared the stage with our favourite bands and met some incredible people along the way. What a f*cking ride! We’re forever grateful for the support you’ve given us over the years.”

Obey the Brave started in 2012 with Despised Icon vocalist Alex Erian, bassist Miguel Lepage, guitarist John Campbell, guitarist Greg Wood, and drummer Stevie Morotti. The final lineup featured Erian and Morotti alongside Terrence McAuley on guitar and Ben Landreville on bass. Their last album, 2019’s Balance, was released via Hell for Breakfast.
