Halloween Kills Pushed Back to 2021, First Teaser Released

We’re all going to have to wait quite a bit longer to see Michael Myers return to the big screen. Originally slated for release this coming October (naturally), Halloween Kills has now been pushed back a full year to October 2021. The sequel to David Gordon Green’s 2018 continuation of the John Carpenter horror classic will also get an IMAX release, according to today’s announcement from Green and Carpenter.

Halloween Kills reunites Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode and Nick Castle as Michael Myers/The Shape, along with Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Kyle Richards, Charles Cyphers, Nancy Stephens, and new addition to the Halloween franchise, ’80s icon Anthony Michael Hall.

Today’s announcement also confirmed that work has begun on the next installment of the franchise, Halloween Ends. While the year-long delay is certainly a bummer for those eagerly awaiting a return to Haddonfield, the first teaser trailer for Halloween Kills was released today in order to soothe the broken hearts of horror fans worldwide.

Read today’s announcement and check out the teaser below. Halloween Kills is now scheduled to open in theatres on October 15, 2021. You can find our review of 2018’s Halloween from Austin’s Fantastic Fest here.
