Isaac Asimov’s Sci-Fi Classic Foundation TV Series Coming to Apple TV+ (Watch the Trailer)

Isaac Asimov’s classic sci-fi book series Foundation is coming to Apple TV+ as a TV series in 2021. The show was announced by Apple back in 2018, but production was delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

Asimov’s Foundation saga began as a series of short stories in Astounding Magazine between 1942-1950, before eventually becoming a trilogy of books, which Asimov later expanded into a total of seven books in the ’80s. The story revolves around a future society known as the Galactic Empire and a mathematician named Hari Seldon, who develops a system to predict the future of large populations, which he uses to attempt to create the Foundations, groups of scientists and engineers who attempt to preserve the progress of society. The series won the Hugo Award in 1966 for the “Best All-Time Series.”

The upcoming series stars Jared Harris as Hari Seldon, alongside Cassian Bilton, Laura Birn, and Leah Harvey.

Check out the initial teaser trailer below. Foundation is due in 2021 on Apple TV+.
