With no news about when/if concerts can resume in Quebec, evenko has just announced that both the Osheaga and ÎleSoniq festivals are moving to summer 2021.
The new Osheaga dates are July 30-August 1, while ÎleSoniq returns August 6-7, 2021. The lineups for each festival have yet to be announced.
From the Osheaga press release:
“This is an unusual situation that is unfortunately beyond our control” says Nick Farkas, Senior Vice President, Booking, Concerts and Events at evenko, “but as passionate music fans ourselves, we take great pride in curating the festival with the aim of bringing the best local, Canadian and international talent to the most beautiful festival site in the world, and we’ll have some fantastic artists lined up for 2021.”
Refunds are available, but festival organizers are encouraging fans to hold onto their tickets for the 2021 dates, offering up a $50 gift card to be used on-site next year. Details for that promotion are available here.
This year marked the 15th anniversary of Osheaga and was set to include headliners Foo Fighters, Kendrick Lamar, and Lizzo. Hopefully, much of the lineup for both festivals will be able to make the 2021 editions.
The inaugural Lasso country music festival was also scheduled to take place on Parc Jean-Drapeau this August; stay tuned for updates on rescheduled dates for that.
