Jerry Stiller (Seinfeld’s Frank Costanza) dies at 92

Legendary comic actor Jerry Stiller, best known as George Costanza’s long-suffering father Frank Costanza on Seinfeld, has died of natural causes at 92. His son Ben Stiller announced the news via Twitter.

From his plea for “serenity now!” to pioneering the mansier, Stiller was a fan-favourite on the long-running show, perfectly playing the curmudgeonly father to George (Jason Alexander) and husband to Estelle (Estelle Harris).

Decades before his run on Seinfeld, Stiller was half of the husband-and-wife comedy team “Stiller & Meara” in the ’60s, who regularly appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. After Seinfeld wrapped up in the late ’90s, Stiller played Arthur Spooner on The King of Queens, appearing on over 200 episodes.
