Montreal-based punk rock collective Red Mass recently released the 2-track Bored 7″ via the legendary punk and garage rock undergroundSympathy for the Record Industry (Rocket From the Crypt, Billy Childish, Turbonegro). The title track is the band’s take on the 1979 Destroy All Monsters song, written by Ron Asheton of The Stooges and Niagara, while the flip side is the new Red Mass track “Ecstasy of the Fire Snake,” produced by Mingo L’indien of Les Georges Leningrad. The single features cover art by visual artist Niagara, who also handled vocal duties for Destroy All Monsters.
Stream both tracks below. The Bored single is available in record stores now, and Red Mass will also have copies on-hand during their appearance at ’77 Montreal on July 26, alongside Bad Religion, Pennywise, Cro-Mags, OFF!, The Avengers, Sudden Impact, and many more. Tickets are available via the official festival site.
