Acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter SOAK brings her Grim Town tour to Montreal

At just 22-years-old, the Derby-born and now Manchester, UK-based singer-songwriter SOAK has already undergone a major reinvention. SOAK’s acclaimed 2015 debut, Before We Forgot How to Dream, was a moving but relatively sparse affair, centered on her evocative vocals and acoustic guitar playing, best exemplified on tracks like the album’s smash single “B A Nobody.”

Three years later, SOAK returns with her follow-up, 2019’s Grim Town (Rough Trade). The album features an expanded sonic palette that sees her vocals matched with an eclectic soundscape that reaches into the pop and synth pop realms with great effect on tracks like the shimmering “Knock Me Off My Feet.”

SOAK is currently on tour supporting Grim Town, which includes a stop at Montreal’s Bar le Ritz PDB on June 18 with support from Fenne Lily. Tickets are available here. Check out some recent SOAK videos below, as well as her appearance on Cameron Esposito’s Queery podcast. For all upcoming tour dates, visit SOAK’s official site.
