En Route vers Heavy finale
L’Astral
June 7, 2019
En Route Vers Heavy, the annual band competition to win a coveted spot to play at Heavy Montreal, wrapped up last Friday night at L’Astral with Montreal’s Junkowl taking top honours from the team of metal judges.
The show was a culmination of a series of showdowns at local venues Katacombes, Turbo Haus and Le Ministère, alongside shows at Toronto’s Sneaky Dees, Ottawa’s The 27 Club, and Quebec City’s L’Anti.
The night featured sets from Junkowl, alongside finalists The Listener, Fractures & Outlines, Death Note Silence, Inner Turmoil, and Powerbomb.
Below are photos from the night courtesy of Eric Brisson. Junkowl will join the likes of Slayer, Ghost, Slash, Godsmack, Anthrax, and dozens more at this summer’s Heavy Montreal on July 27-28 at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Passes are on-sale here.
