Satanic Surfers with Belvedere and La Armada
Foufounes Electriques
April 20, 2019
Swedish skate-punks Satanic Surfers and Calgary’s Belvedere last played Montreal together back in 2002, which made their pair of shows at Foufounes Electriques on Saturday a reunion of sorts (they played an afternoon matinee as well as an evening show). Both bands have a long history of playing in Montreal, and Satanic Surfers mentioned at both shows how important Montreal was for them back in the 90s (Montreal was the first place they played outside of Europe).
Below you can check out photos from the evening show courtesy of Eric Brisson. We caught up with Satanic Surfers ahead of their set at last year’s ’77 Montreal — you can read our interview with guitarist Magnus Blixtberg here.
