Teenage Fanclub made a triumphant return to Montreal after nearly a decade

Scottish power-pop torchbearers Teenage Fanclub are currently out on the road in advance of their upcoming LP, which included a stop at a sold-out Petit Campus in Montreal on March 9th. The show marked the band’s first Montreal show in nearly a decade, and the first without vocalist / guitarist Gerard Love, who amicably left the band recently due to their globe-spanning touring schedule.

With a large catalogue to choose from, the band mixed in album deep cuts with fan favourites like 1991’s “The Concept” and “Everything Flows” off their 1990 debut. It was a glorious night of sublime harmonies and feedback-laced blow-outs, and both the band and the packed roomful of fans seemed overjoyed to finally be reunited after so long.

Below you can check out photos from the show, including openers Hank, courtesy of Eva Blue. We spoke to Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake in advance of the show to discuss the new album, the revamped band lineup, and much more — read our complete interview here.
