Rumour mill: Heavy Montreal lineup sleuthing (Slash, Five Finger Death Punch, Godsmack, Evanescence, and more)

While Heavy Montreal has yet to unveil the full lineup for the 2019 edition, looking at various recent tour itineraries points to some promising leads for who we can except to see at the fest this summer.

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash announced a number of upcoming Canadian tour dates today, with an empty couple of days in Eastern Canada during the weekend of Heavy Montreal.

Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators will bring the Living the Dream tour to Windsor, Ontario on July 26, and Toronto on July 29. Heavy Montreal runs from July 27-28.

Heavy Montreal organizers have only announced one band to date, but it’s a big one — Slayer will play their “last ever” Quebec show at the fest this summer, after their massive farewell tour at Laval’s Place Bell last spring. There are rumours that Slayer will also bring along their 2019 tourmates to Heavy Montreal, including Lamb of God, Amon Amarth, and Cannibal Corpse.

In other Heavy Montreal rumours, there are also rumours that like with 2018’s edition, a number of acts from Bangor Maine’s Impact Festival will also make their way to Heavy (both fests run the same weekend).

This year’s Impact Festival features Five Finger Death Punch, Godsmack, In This Moment, Evanescence, All That Remains, Between the Buried and Me, and more. Check out the full lineup below.

Heavy Montreal passes are available now. Check out our coverage of last year’s edition here and here.

Who do you hope to see in the lineup this year? Sound off in the comments below!
