Based on the now-classic book of the same name, Lords of Chaos delves into the bloody early years of the Norwegian black metal scene, taking in the formation of the influential and confrontational Mayhem, which includes murder, suicide, church burnings, and other various uplifting elements. We caught the film at Fantastic Fest last year and it’s a truly harrowing (and surprisingly comedic) look at the madness, music and bloodshed surrounding one of the most infamous music scenes of all time.
Starring Rory Culkin, Emory Cohen, Sky Ferreira, Jack Kilmer, and Valter Skarsgård, and directed by Dennis Magnusson & Jonas Åkerlund, Lords of Chaos hits theatres on February 8, 2019, and lands on VOD on February 22.
