Trip hop legends (and possible Banksy side project) Massive Attack are celebrating the 21st anniversary of their influential Mezzanine album by heading out on the Mezzanine XXI tour, where they will be playing the acclaimed album in full. That tour hits Montreal’s Place des Arts on March 11, 2019 — tickets start at $60.95 (including taxes and service fees) go on-sale Friday, November 9th at 10:00 am via evenko.
From the press release:
Mezzanine XXI will be a totally new audio / visual production featuring Elizabeth Fraser and designed by Robert Del Naja with collaborators to be announced at a later date.
The show will re-imagine Mezzanine twenty one years on from its release using custom audio reconstructed from the original samples and influences.
Robert Del Naja says: “It’s going to be a one off piece of work; our own personalised nostalgia nightmare head trip”
In addition to the tour, Massive Attack are also prepping a remastered reissue of Mezzanine, including a ‘Super Deluxe 3-LP box set, with “a 48pp hardback book featuring photos from Nick Knight that show the development of the striking cover imagery + an additional 32pp booklet which is a new edition of the art-book Fitting In” by Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja. Check out photos and the tracklist below, along with all upcoming tour dates. Pre-orders for Mezzanine are available now.
