Son Lux kick off the East Coast leg of the Brighter Wounds tour this week (win tickets to the Montreal show)
Son Lux initially began as a solo project for composer and singer Ryan Lott, but as of 2015 the band has expanded into a 3-piece, including guitarist Rafiq Bhatia and drummer Ian Chang. That lineup just released Brighter Wounds (City Slang) earlier this year, a genre-hopping adventure of an LP that features Lott’s delicate vocals laid over tracks that range from intimate dream-pop to skittish hip hop and expansive electronica.
Son Lux kick off their East Coast tour dates with Sinkane tonight (who we last caught back in 2015), including a show at Théâtre Fairmount on Monday, March 26. Tickets are $21.25 in advance, and we also have a pair up for grabs courtesy of Greenland Productions! To enter our draw, send your complete name to “contests@badfeelingmag.com” with the subject line “Son Lux.” We’ll select a winner at random on March 26.
In the meantime, below you can check out the band’s star-studded video for Brighter Wounds track “All Directions,” starring Orphan Black‘s Tatiana Maslany and Black Mirror‘s Tom Cullen. The video was directed by long-time Son Lux collaborator Nathan Johnson, with cinematography by Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s Steve Yedlin.
