MGMT
MTelus
March 17, 2018
Beloved synth pop duo MGMT (Andrew VanWyngarden and Benjamin Goldwasser) recently released their first new album in five years, Little Dark Age, and are currently in the midst of a North American tour to support it, which included a sold-out show at Montreal’s MTelus on March 17th.
Following a pair of poorly received experimental albums (2010’s Congratulations and 2013’s self-titled LP), Little Dark Age finds the band focusing back on the streamlined synth pop basics that made their 2008 debut Oracular Spectacular such a massive success. The duo ran through the majority of the new album at the packed Montreal show, while dipping back to their debut LP for the smash hits “Kids” and “Electric Feel.”
