After a messy pre-announce rollout that has included a drama-filled back-and-forth about why original bassist D’arcy Wretzky isn’t participating in the classic lineup reunion, Smashing Pumpkins have finally revealed the dates for their upcoming world tour.
Dubbed the Shiny And Oh So Bright tour, the lineup features original members Billy Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin, along with guitarist Jeff Schroeder, and lands at Montreal’s Bell Centre on August 7 (two days after Osheaga). Tickets range from $49 to $150 and go on-sale Friday, February 23 at 10:00 am via evenko.ca.
According to the band’s Facebook, the tour will be “celebrating songs from their first 5 albums: Gish, Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore, and Machina.”
Smashing Pumpkins were last in Montreal for a show at Bell Centre back in 2012 on the Oceania tour. Check out all of the announced dates below, along with some classic 90’s Pumpkins classics.
