Gojira
Metropolis
October 21, 2016
Just as their namesake roars back to theatres, Gojira, France’s heaviest export, are also back, with Magma, their first full-length LP in 4 years. Touring alongside the UK’s Tesseract, the band (who haven’t headlined a Montreal show in years) rolled into town last Friday night for a massive sold-out show before 2,300 people at Metropolis.
The Bayonne foursome ran through the majority of this year’s Magma LP during their 16-track setlist, which also touched on favourites from prior LP’s From Mars to Sirius and The Way of the Flesh, and even dipped back to 2001’s Terra Incognita for “Clone.”
