Russian feminist punk collective Pussy Riot became household names following their 2012 arrest in Moscow for staging a performance critical of the Russian Orthodox Church and its support for President Vladimir Putin. Three members of the band were arrested, including Masha Alekhina, who was charged with “hooliganism motivated by religious hatred.” Alekhina and fellow collective member Sasha Bogino will discuss their experience and work with Pussy Riot with Canada’s own George Stroumboulopoulos, November 9th at Theatre Maisonneuve. Tickets are $29.50 – $43.50, and are available as of Friday, September 16th via the Place des Arts site.
Update! We now have a pair of tickets up for grabs courtesy of evenko!
